Vacation Settings for Packages

During this season of increased travel and vacations, check to see if your package management system has vacation or hold settings for your residents. Notify your residents of what they need to do if they’re going to be gone and unable to pick up their packages in a reasonable amount of time. In addition, you may consider charging residents storage fees to encourage timely retrieval of their packages.

Luxer One provides the ability to manage resident vacation settings in two different scenarios:

  1. Packages already delivered while the resident is gone and won’t be returning soon
  2. A vacation hold can be set up for planned travel or absence

Either of these can be done by the property team or the resident.

Packages already delivered

If a resident has a package that has already been delivered to the lockers or room, and they cannot pick it up in a reasonable amount of time, the package can be scheduled for a later pick up date. Here’s how!

Property Team:

Login to Building Manager, click on Orders to locate the resident’s package. Under Status, click the drop down box and select Hold Package and enter the date you would like the package held until and click Confirm.

Resident:

Login to your Luxer One account  and click on Orders for any deliveries that have not yet been picked up. Click on the drop down menu under Actions and select Hold Package. Enter the date you would like the package held until and click Confirm.

Placing an account on Vacation Hold

If a resident will be away for an extended period, Luxer One has a Preferences setting that is easily accessible in Account Settings.

Property Team:

Login to Building Manager, click on Recipients to locate the resident name, and click on it. Select Login as next to their name and complete the steps below for the resident.

Resident:

Login to your Luxer One account, click on Settings and scroll down to My Preferences. Enter the date your vacation will begin and when you will return, click Update. Any packages delivered during this time will be automatically placed on hold until you return.
