Are Your Residents Missing Packages?

Every package should make it to its intended recipient, however, there are times when this doesn't happen. But why? Packages can be lost in shipping, misplaced by a carrier, get stolen or moved by another resident. This occurs more frequently when a property doesn’t have secure package storage. The good news is that you can take the same steps, regardless of why a package never made it to the resident.

  1. Contact Support

The resident can reach out to your package management support team to help them locate their package. If your solution has package logging and video, the vendor will be able to tell them if the package was actually delivered to the system.

  1. Contact the Shipper

Have the resident contact the person who shipped them the item, and inform them that the package was not successfully delivered.

  • If purchased from a company, they should have insurance on their shipments, and can either refund or replace the lost item.
  • Sometimes packages are not sent by a seller, and so there is no one to reimburse or replace the lost item.

  1. Contact the Carrier

Contact the carrier who attempted to make the delivery, and inform them that the package was not successfully delivered.

  • If the carrier cannot verify that you were in receipt of the package, then they should cover their liability.

  1. File a Report

In the case of theft, you should file a police report.

  • If you have Luxer One Signature Support, your support team will work with the local police department as they attempt to identify the individual responsible for any theft, providing information directly to the responding police department upon their request.

Luxer One will use their video footage to help determine what may have happened to the package, however, even with the best video possible, there are times when a package cannot be located.
